FairMunch — Privacy Policy

FairMunch LLC ("FairMunch", "we", "us", "our") operates the FairMunch website at fairmunch.com, the FairMunch Driver mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how you can control it.

1. Information We Collect

• Account info: name, email, phone, password (encrypted)
• Delivery info: delivery address, order history, order notes
• Payment info: we never store full card numbers. Payments are processed by Stripe (PCI-DSS compliant). We retain only the last 4 digits and transaction IDs.
• Driver info (drivers only): vehicle type, license plate, driver's license number, service area, real-time GPS location while online and during deliveries
• Restaurant info (restaurant partners only): business name, address, contact details, menu, business banking details (via Stripe Connect)
• Usage data: device type, IP address, app version, crash reports (no personally identifying device fingerprints)

2. Location Data (FairMunch Driver app)

The FairMunch Driver app accesses your device's location to:

• Match you with nearby pickup orders
• Share your live GPS position with the customer and restaurant while you have an active delivery
• Calculate accurate ETAs

Location is broadcast only while you are "Online" in the app. When you go offline, location sharing immediately stops. Background location updates are accompanied by a persistent notification in your status bar so you always know when location is being shared.

We do not sell, share, or use driver location data for advertising. Location data older than 30 days is automatically purged.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Process and deliver your orders
• Communicate order status, receipts, support, and important account notices
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service
• Comply with legal obligations (e.g., 1099 tax forms for drivers earning over $600/yr)
• Improve and optimize the Service

4. Sharing

We share data only when necessary:

• Restaurants & drivers receive the minimum info needed to fulfill your order (name, address, phone, order details)
• Stripe for payment processing (subject to Stripe's privacy policy)
• Supabase for secure data storage (subject to Supabase's privacy policy and SOC2 compliance)
• Law enforcement only when legally compelled (subpoena, court order, etc.)

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Your Rights

You can:

• Request a copy of all data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your account (which deletes associated personal data within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements for financial records)
• Opt out of marketing emails (transactional emails like order receipts cannot be opted out of while you have an active account)

6. Data Security

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). Database access is restricted by row-level security policies. We undergo regular security reviews.

7. Children

FairMunch is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified via email and an in-app banner at least 14 days before taking effect.
